Pulparindo - (HOT AND SALTED TAMARINDO PULP) is probably the best-known and
surely the most delicious Mexican candy. It doesn't look very nice, but its taste makes up for
it. It is sweet, hot and sour and it's all at the same time. Pulparindo comes in two flavours, regular (yellow box) and extra hot (extra picante, red box).
The first is covered with powdered sugar and the other with chilli. The pulp itself is also
different for each of the flavours. Some people say it tastes a bit like raisins or
dried plums but I can't see that. It is definitely worth trying!
Pulparindo can be bought locally in many stores in the USA, Canada and of course Mexico.
Personally I recommend buying it on eBay even if you live in one of the lucky countries.
The price of a box there is about $2,5 and you can get it shipped worldwide for another $12 ( up to 4 boxes ).
